Employment at Mithaq

We review your employment contract, payslips and termination letter, work out with you the approximate dues under the federal Labour Law, then explain the steps: an amicable claim, a complaint to the competent authority, or a labour case if needed.

We also help small business owners draft clear employment contracts and policies, and end employment relationships properly, protecting both sides.

Matters we handle in this area

  • End-of-service gratuity and how it is worked out
  • Unpaid salaries and dues
  • Termination and notice periods
  • Labour complaints and cases
  • Reviewing employment contracts and non-compete clauses
  • Contracts and policies for small businesses

The list is illustrative; after the consultation your lawyer tells you what applies to your case.

How is end-of-service gratuity worked out?

It is usually based on the last basic salary and the years of service, provided you completed at least one year, under the federal Labour Law. We work it out with you at the consultation from your contract and payslips.

Do I start with a complaint or with the court?

In most labour disputes the first step is a complaint to the competent authority in the UAE, and the matter goes to court if it is not resolved. We explain the right route for your case and its usual timeframes.

My employer has not paid my salary for two months. What should I do?

Keep your bank statements and messages, and don’t leave the job before you talk to us; we explain your options and the best order of steps.

I run a small business. Can you help with contracts?

Yes. We draft simple, clear employment contracts and policies in both languages, and review your current contracts against the law.
